Fun Afternoon - Saturday 8th July at 2.00pm

for Bowling Club and Social Club Members

Clarence Road, Fleet, Hampshire

Fleet Social Bowling Club is Fleet's oldest bowling club

The club

When it comes to bowling, there are many things to consider before choosing a bowls club to join.

Ours is a friendly, yet competitive, club for both men and women of varying abilities. We have a strong bond of togetherness, and this is what makes us different from other clubs in the area. We provide a warm welcome to both beginners and experienced players and there is plenty of patience and consideration on hand to assist new members whatever their ability.

Beginners will be allocated a 'bowls buddy' when they join to help and guide them through the bowls season. The club has spare bowls available for use by beginners if they do not have their own set or need to practice before committing to buying a set.

The club is very flexible in the way in which it operates in that members can select the type of games and matches that best suit their lifestyle, whether it be friendlies, club competitions or league matches that are held throughout the season during the weekends or on weekdays.

The club

Membership of our bowling club brings the added benefit of being a member of our excellent social club - all part of the total package on joining.

Fleet Social Bowling Club has a six-rink bowling green that is located behind Fleet Social Club in Clarence Road near to Fleet town centre. The club has car parking faciliities and is well served by public transport as well as being only a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

Fleet Social Bowling Club is affiliated to a number of other bowling associations, namely:-

Bowls England (formed in 2008)

Bowls Hampshire (founded in 1953)

North Hampshire Women's Bowling Association (founded in 1967)

Aldershot and District Bowling Association (founded in 1909)

Blackwater Valley Ladies Bowling League (founded in 1988)

Stan Hardman League (founded in 1989) - all funds raised in competing for the Stan Hardman Cup go to the Hampshire Air Ambulance.

The club also holds it's own club competitions, for ladies, for men and for pairs. Friendly matches are held most weekends with other teams in the local area - this gives members the opportunity to visit other clubs at various and interesting locations.

Members of the Fleet U3A outdoor bowls group meet at the club every Thursday, at 10.30, during the bowling season.
